Chilli Challenge 08/08/16

Thursday 11/08/16                                                                                    More Multiplication Madness

Oatmeal Biscuit Recipe.
(For 12 biscuits)
1 1/2 cups of flour
3/4 cup of milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 cup of oatmeal

How much of each ingredient would be needed to make 30 biscuits?

The first 10 multiples of nine are:
9,  18,  27,  36,  45,  54,  63,  72,  81,  90

a. Add the digits of each of these multiples. What do you notice?
b. Try adding the digits of each of the first 10 multiples of eight.
What pattern do you notice this time?
                            c.  Do the same with the multiples of seven.
What pattern do you notice this time?

Any number that ends in zero or five can be divided by five.
How can you find out if a number can be divided by three?
Skip counting is a clue.
(The idea is that if some one gives you a number you will be able to tell if it can be    divided by three by looking at it and using the rule you have discovered.)

When you post your thinking on Showbie give some explanation about the task and what you thought of it.
